This Week in Women – Easter is Cancelled
Another week under the stay-at-home mandate has passed. But this weekend is a tough one because we will not celebrate Easter in any traditional sense. We have the outfits for the children and their beautiful Easter baskets. But we won’t have that long lunch with family or attend the service at church. And I love the people watching in New Orleans on Easter Sunday. There is one and only one second line that passes in front of our home in New Orleans. The Pigeon Town Steppers march on Easter Sunday. We will miss them.
Of course, the meaning of Easter is not cancelled. We need it’s uplifting message more than ever. There is hope in the world. We will beat the coronavirus. We are beating it. I think I finally see the light at the end of this long, dark tunnel.
