Blair duQuesnay, CFA®, CFP® is an investment advisor at Ritholtz Wealth Management, LLC. She works with the firm’s clients to create sustainable financial plans and investment strategies. Blair focuses on working with women, particularly women who are breadwinners for their family and women who are alone through either divorce or the death of a spouse. Blair also has a specialization in working with younger clients who are Gen X or Millennials. She is a member of the firm’s investment committee, where she provides an advisor’s perspective and has a pulse on the questions clients are asking about their portfolios.

Blair is an active contributor and commenter on the financial services industry. She has been featured or quoted in publications including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Investment News, Morningstar Advisor Magazine, and Business Insider. She was named one of the “Top 15 Financial Advisors” to follow on social media by Investment News in 2014.  Brightscope ranks Blair among the “Top 100 Social Advisors”. In 2014, Blair was named one of News Orleans City Business’ “Money Makers”.

In 2017, Blair was given the Millennial Award for Financial Services in her hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. Blair was named to the 2015 Investment News “40 Under 40” list of top advisors and associated professionals in the financial planning industry. In 2016, Blair was named by local New Orleans’ publication The Gambit as a 40 Under 40 honoree.

Blair is a frequent speaker and panelist at financial service events and conferences. Most recently, she moderated the CFA Wealth Management conference in Los Angeles. She spoke about client-oriented advisory practices at the Annual CFA Conference in 2017 in Philadelphia. Blair participated in a panel about the future of the investment profession with Don Phillips and Bill Bernstein at the 2016 Morningstar Investor Conference.

Prior to joining RWM, Blair was Principal and Chief Investment Officer at ThirtyNorth Investments, LLC, a registered investment advisory firm located in New Orleans, LA.  Blair also founded Ignite Investment and Planning, an advisory firm focused on the financial planning and investment needs of Generation X & Y clients.  She spent her early career in New York City, first in the wealth management division of UBS Financial Services. Her most formative years were spent under the tutelage of Michael Goodman of Wealthstream Advisors, Inc., who taught her the art of comprehensive financial planning and investment advice.

As the author of the newly minted blog, The Belle Curve, Blair writes about raising standards in the financial services industry and the creation of a financial service profession. Blair is also an advocate for encouraging more women to become financial advisors and writes about the client experience for female investors.

Blair is a Past President of the CFA Society of Louisiana where she continues to serve on the board.  She is active in her local community of New Orleans as well, serving on the board of the Choice Foundation and Citizens for 1 Greater New Orleans. She is a prior board member of the New Orleans Junior League where she is a sustaining member.

She holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Georgia, graduating magna cum laude, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Financial Planning from College for Financial Planning. Blair is both a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™.

Blair and her husband Henry live in uptown New Orleans with their young son. She begins most mornings with an ashtanga yoga practice and enjoys reading, sailing, fishing, and skiing.
