Today, The Belle Curve is officially one month old. Nine posts and 18,000 views later, I attest that blogging has surpassed my wildest aspirations. Readers have offered praise, critiques, and pointed out my grammatical mistakes. Thank you, by the way. I am sure I will continue to make mistakes and hopefully learn from them along the way.
The email list is approaching 100, hopefully the first of many hundreds of regular readers. It blows my mind every time a new person signs up. I will do my best to provide valuable content and earn their time and attention.
Thank you
I had a lot of help. I owe my thanks to the entire Ritholtz Wealth team for supporting me in this endeavor. Barry had the best advice on how to improve my writing; write, keep writing, write every day, and your writing will improve. As a result, I’ve written a lot that I will never publish, and that’s fine by me. It’s all part of the process.
Josh is responsible for the name – The Belle Curve. I gave him a few topics I planned to write about and very little direction. After 15 minutes of brainstorming, he had a list of 10 worthy contenders. The Belle Curve was the perfect fit.
Preston McSwain helped me when I was nervous about my post on brokerage firm practices. Preston and I met at the CFA Wealth Management conference in March, and I am thankful that our paths crossed. In my opinion, his writing is an undiscovered gem which you can find on his blog.
So many bloggers have inspired me. I am blessed to work with the greatest ensemble of content creators in financial services – Barry, Josh, Michael, Ben, Nick, Tadas, Tony, and Dina. What a crew! I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank Morgan Housel for his encouragement and his immaculate ability to turn complicated financial concepts into beautiful prose.
Thanks for reading, thanks for sharing, and I look forward to the many months and years of writing to come.
